About Children’s Centre Project (CCP)
The Children’s Centre Project (CCP) is a new organisation looking at ways the children’s voluntary sector can work together to improve the lives of children and young people. The project brings together seven national children’s charities, who all have an interest in partnership working and sharing ideas. Chief Executives of the seven partner charities sit as directors and trustees of the Children’s Centre Project, guiding the strategy and development of the project.
What they wanted The programme needed a feasibility study into the collaborative working of the seven partners in developing interactive web-based services for both its members and audience alike. Each organisation was at a very different stage in its technical ability and the challenge was clear: how do we get the most from web-based services for the members charities but more importantly, for the children in the care of our members.? What services are required? What is possible? Who do we ask? Eleven organisations answer and responded to the brief, two of which were major international consultancy “big-five” players”. How we responded Our response was based on our excellence both individually and as a team in providing both solutions in the sector and our working with clients in a partner-type relationship, to deliver high quality work at low cost. Having been in these situations before, knowing that every penny counts for this type of organisation, by being smaller than most of the other companies we felt we could really offer value and insight working with the partner organisations, pulling on our vast depth of experience in delivering web-based services. We were delighted when we were awarded the contract and proceeded to conduct some twenty-five separate interviews pulling together a study into what is currently available, aspirational and required for all of the different partners, finally bringing a costed recommendation together to fit those requirements in May 2004. The study was delivered on time and to budget. The client has since reported on how delighted they were both with the reports and the conduct of our consultants in dealing with the partners, from CEO’s through to web administrators. The cultural fit between us was so natural that we were even asked to help one of the partners with a recruitment issue, which we have completed and an IT manager subsequently appointed. We are looking forward to a long and rewarding relationship with the CCP as the project moves into its delivery phases. |
