About PITO (now NPIA)
The Police Information Technology Organisation (PITO) is a national body tasked with working with all the regional police forces to ensure that information and communications technology is able to support policing requirements.
What they wanted Prior to a national application rollout PITO commissioned an assessment of each regional police forces network capacity to support the new application. Because of the diversity of regional police force networks, and the sensitivity of the application, establishing a performance baseline ensured that the new application would operate as designed, and could safely be deployed within their existing infrastructure. How we responded Having understood the detailed requirements, Wrenhill undertook initial site visits which initiated a data capturing exercise. This in turn led to an analysis and understanding of the data. Wrenhill has since produced a number of reports for regional police forces to identify any deficiencies and make suitable recommendations for required upgrades. Further consultancy was undertaken to support arising network issues after installation of the new application. Wrenhill are proud of our contribution to helping PITO with the implementation of processes which will enable efficient national rollouts. |
