NS&I, Building Societies Association and the British Bankers Association were tasked by the UK Government to provide an online method of application to repatriate £15bn in lost or dormant accounts with their owners.

Action

Originally requested at the end of 2007, Wrenhill built the solution which scales in a linear fashion to cope with extremely high demand in just 10 weeks and has been hailed a real success both by government and the organisations involved.

Performance

The site went live in February 2008 to an absolute avalanche of requests – peaking on one day with more requests than would normally be handled in a year (after TV, newspaper and radio promotions)! Approximately 200,000 completed forms have been delivered through the system with a peak session recorded so far at 54,000 during September 2008. Fully hosted, managed and maintained 24x7 by Wrenhill.
